Beer and Busking, a new acoustic event series, is set to take over Sunday afternoons at the legendary Camden Assembly this November and beyond.

Curated by the new talent pioneers at Hot Vox, the event aims to showcase some of London’s most promising emerging artists. In association with War Child UK, all busking proceeds will contribute to the organization’s mission of aiding children in areas affected by conflict.

Each event will feature four emerging talents, each performing a 30-minute set comprising originals, classic covers, and modern-day hits. Given the current cost of living crisis, entry to these events is free. However, attendees will have the opportunity to support their favorite acts and contribute to War Child by leaving a tip through a digital ‘tip jar’ accessed via a QR code at their table.

Georgina Barrett, Music and Events Executive at War Child expressed her excitement, stating, “I am thrilled to witness the impact of collaborative initiatives like Beer and Busking, brought to life by our partner, Hot Vox. These events exemplify the heart and soul of charitable giving in the music community, demonstrating how collective efforts contribute to our crucial mission.”

Kicking off the November series on Sunday, Nov. 5, will be Peruvian singer Brisa, known for her captivating blend of Latin jazz, Latin folk, and Boleros. Joining her will be the raw and passionate stylings of east London’s Habiba, along with alternative rock and blues-tinged artist Jessie Phelps. Also gracing the stage is Trina Read, a singer-songwriter from Essex renowned for her emotionally driven compositions.

The following Sundays will present an equally stellar lineup of emerging talent, promising an eclectic blend of genres and styles, all supporting a worthy cause.

Formerly known as The Barfly, the Camden Assembly is one of London’s most celebrated live music venues, renowned for breaking budding talent and hosting iconic names. Its intimate 400-capacity space over two floors has been instrumental in the careers of artists like Ed Sheeran, The Strokes, and Adele.

With its cozy pub vibes and popular food menu, Beer and Busking at the Camden Assembly offers the perfect Sunday afternoon. Every penny raised through tips at the event will contribute to the significant work carried out by War Child.
