Write For Highwire
Highwire is always open to new contributors, whether you’re after your first byline or you’ve been writing about music for years. We publish live reviews, album and single reviews, interviews, features and news, and we’re especially keen on writers who can get to shows and festivals we can’t cover ourselves. We also run a small sport section, not transfer news or match reports, but the odd stories and human angles behind the game.
What we’re looking for
- Live reviews from gigs and festivals, ideally with your own photos
- Album and single reviews with a clear point of view, not just a plot summary of the tracklist
- Interviews with artists, established or emerging
- Features and opinion pieces with a genuine angle
- Sport features and curiosities, the stories behind the game rather than transfer news or match reports
How to apply
Email madison@highwire-magazine.co.uk with:
- A couple of lines about you and what you’d like to cover
- Links to two or three writing samples, published or not
- One or two pitch ideas: a gig you could review, an artist you’d want to interview, or a feature topic
No writing samples yet? Send us a short piece on any gig, album or single instead, and we’ll read it the same way.
Highwire is unpaid at the moment, but you’ll get a byline, a growing portfolio, and access to shows and releases through us.
