Become immersed in a musical extravaganza as the Savannah Music Festival returns from Mar. 28 to Apr. 13, 2024.

This annual celebration, which promises more than 75 live performances in the heart of Savannah, Georgia’s National Historic Landmark District, has become renowned for its diverse lineup, featuring a blend of jazz, classical, and American and global roots music, all presented in iconic downtown venues.

The festival kicks off with a bang at the GRAMMY Award-winning jazz vocalist Samara Joy’s concert, followed by the annual Spring Fling, a lively party benefiting SMF’s year-round artistic and education programs.

“We’re thrilled to bring incredible live performances to Savannah throughout the spring, offering a world of music in one city,” said Savannah Music Festival Executive Director Gene Dobbs Bradford. “Savannah Music Festival has a deep commitment to the local community and to expanding access to live music. We invite everyone to enjoy their favorite musicians and to discover exciting new artists at the 2024 festival.”

The 2024 lineup is nothing short of spectacular, with performances by world-renowned artists such as soprano Renée Fleming, bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, classical pianist Emanuel Ax, and the high-energy Southern rockers North Mississippi Allstars with blues icon Bobby Rush. The festival spans various genres, showcasing the incredible diversity of the musical world.

International artists will grace the stage, representing countries like India, South Africa, Ireland, Cuba, Sweden, Portugal, Mali, Canary Islands, France, Argentina, and Spain. The lineup also pays homage to American roots music, delving into the legacies of iconic figures like Doc Watson, Earl Scruggs, Clifton Chenier, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf.

Adding to the excitement, SMF has announced additional performances, including Rosanne Cash with John Leventhal, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Amy Helm, and a Closing Night Party featuring the Rebirth Brass Band and Eddie 9V. These newly revealed shows further enhance the festival’s already impressive roster.

Festival debuts, special projects, and unique collaborations abound, with a lineup featuring artists like Oumou Sangaré, Emanuel Ax, Dervish, Isaiah J. Thompson, and more. Artistic collaborations include chamber music works by Terence Blanchard, Rhiannon Giddens, and others, co-commissioned by SMF.

The festival isn’t just about music; it offers thought-provoking discussions through the free Encounters Artist Talks Series. Renée Fleming’s Music & Mind and Doc @ 100, a discussion on Doc Watson’s musical history, are just a glimpse into the engaging conversations lined up.
