Wide Awake Festival has proudly revealed a fresh wave of additions to its 2024 lineup, solidifying its reputation as one of the most eclectic and innovative events on the London festival circuit.
Set to take place in Brockwell Park on Saturday, May 25, Wide Awake Festival’s new lineup announcements boast an impressive array of up-and-coming and established leftfield talent.
The latest additions include London post-punk stalwarts Dry Cleaning, Singaporean experimental virtuoso Yeule, synth-pop luminary Johnny Jewel, PC Music sensation Hannah Diamond, Felt legend Lawrence Hayward with Mozart Estate, Brighton punk favorites Lambrini Girls, Talking Heads dance sensation Byrne’s Night, Franco-American glam rockers Faux Real, Australian singer-songwriter Grace Cummings, New Wave revivalists The Itch, and Deep Tan, and Boston indie duo Sweeping Promises.
This diverse lineup signifies a harmonious blend of indie legends and next-generation innovators. Johnny Jewel, known for his iconic work on the Drive soundtrack, pioneered a new era of synthwave. Lawrence Hayward, influential frontman of Mozart Estate (formerly of Felt), recently had a statue unveiled in Fitzrovia, showcasing his enduring impact.
Lambrini Girls champion a new wave of fiery punk in the realm of next-gen innovators, while Hannah Diamond and Yeule push boundaries with futuristic glitch and PC aesthetics.
These acts join previously announced headliners King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Slowdive, and Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers. Additionally, the lineup features UK post-punk favorites Squid, renowned DJs Ben UFO and Helena Hauff, electronic pop legend Alice Glass, Australian rockers C.O.F.F.I.N, Babe Rainbow, The Dare, Decius, Etran De L’air, Crumb, Eartheater, Upchuck, and YHWH Nailgun, among others.
The recent additions of shoegaze titans Slowdive, Berlin electronic duo Modeselektor, Iranian-Dutch artist Sevdaliza, New York singer-songwriter INIKO, Seattle quartet La Luz, NTS favorite OK Williams, Brighton avant-folk quartet The New Eves, Australian industrial rockers HTRK, and New York noise-rock band Model/Actriz have further heightened the festival’s allure.
Acclaimed experimental DJ and composer David Holmes is set to make a welcome appearance, and with the main stage hosted by US radio station KEXP, Wide Awake 2024 promises to be an unmissable highlight on the festival calendar.
