Melbourne-based pop sensation Blusher is back with a bang as they drop their latest single, “Rave Angel,” a vibrant and fast-paced slice of Blusher goodness now available everywhere via Atlantic Records/Warner Music Australia.
This new release marks Blusher’s return to the music scene since their debut EP, “Should We Go Dance?” took the world by storm in mid-2023. “Rave Angel” is a testament to the trio’s musical evolution, offering a fresh sound inspired by a night of unforgettable adventures in the City of Angels.
Crafted against the backdrop of a movie-like night out in LA, fueled by secret DJ sets from none other than Charli XCX and A.G. Cook, as well as an impromptu In-N-Out pitstop, “Rave Angel” encapsulates the magic of spontaneous nights out with friends.
Reflecting on the late-night escapade that inspired the track, Blusher shared their experience:
“While we were on a writing trip in LA, there was a night we went out so determined to have a big dance, but everywhere we went, the DJs were terrible. Miranda’s hype-up playlist in the Uber outmatched them all. A few clubs and an In-N-Out pitstop later, we managed to sneak into a secret Charli XCX and AG Cook DJ set, and the night completely turned around.
The next day, we were inspired to write about the fact that it all could have ended at the In-N-Out burger, if we hadn’t convinced each other to push on. ‘Rave Angel,’ a phrase we coined while describing how Charli looked behind the decks that night, is the song you play to your friend in the Uber that convinces them to stay out and see what unfolds.
We wrote the song in a highly caffeinated state with co-producer Pink Slip, who did an amazing job of reflecting our chaotic confidence in the production.”
Described by People Magazine as the music version of “Lindsay Lohan, Britney, and Paris Hilton’s iconic holy trinity picture,” Blusher is riding high on the success of a monumental 2023. Highlights include being named one of Spotify’s RADAR artists, showcasing at The Great Escape UK and SXSW Sydney, and supporting international artists AURORA and Tove Lo on their national Australian tours. The year then culminated in a tour with Icelandic musician Daði Freyr across the UK and Europe.
With “Rave Angel” setting the stage for what’s to come, Blusher continues establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the pop music scene.
