Miss Chain & The Broken Heels release new album, ‘Storms’

Italian indie rock sensation Miss Chain & The Broken Heels are back with a bang as they drop their latest musical masterpiece, Storms, through Wild Honey Records. The album marks a triumphant return for the band, showcasing their signature blend of garage rock grit and irresistible power pop hooks.

Conceived initially as a solo project by frontwoman Astrid Dante, Miss Chain & The Broken Heels quickly evolved into a dynamic collective, boasting guitarist Silva Cantele’s instrumental prowess and bassist Franz Barcella’s rhythmic finesse. The band’s sound is characterized by a subtle complexity, with Dante’s emotive vocals adding depth beyond the typical realms of pop and rock.

Storms is the band’s first album since 2013, following a hiatus that saw its members exploring diverse paths. Dante delved deeper into her therapist career, and Cantele embarked on a solo post-folk odyssey. Barcella emerged as Italy’s premier garage/punk booking agent while managing the band’s label, Wild Honey.

According to Dante, this latest offering represents a more mature and intimate musical exploration than their previous releases. The album kicks off with the infectious guitar hook of “I Don’t Know,” setting the tone for a sonic journey that seamlessly weaves between sharp, energetic tracks like “Hunters of Hope” and the contemplative depth of songs like “Lie.”

While the band acknowledges the potentially serious themes within Storms, Dante reassures listeners that the album is not intended for a somber listening experience. Instead, it invites reflection through her thoughtful lyrics, which perfectly counter the upbeat and inspiring musical arrangements.

A noteworthy aspect of Storms is the collaborative songwriting effort, involving contributions from every band member. Producer Riccardo Zamboni, as noted by Dante, played a pivotal role in shaping the album’s identity long before entering the studio.

Storms emerges as an album centered on personal growth, exploring the delicate balance between letting go and embracing new beginnings. According to Dante, it encapsulates the tension between the band’s roots and their current evolution, resulting in a musical journey that resonates with their past and present.

Miss Chain & The Broken Heels have again proven their musical prowess with ‘Storms,’ solidifying their place in the indie rock scene. The album is now available, beckoning listeners to immerse themselves in its storm of shimmering melodies, evocative lyrics, and infectious beats. So, tune in and get ready to be swept away by the sonic tempest that is Storms.
